Who is Queensland’s best professional chef?

Queensland’s most prestigious chef competition returns in 2023 and entries are now open to any professional chef working in a café, restaurant or commercial kitchen.

This event will see chef compete against chef and the clock in a test of creativity, culinary knowledge and ingenuity. The chosen 28 finalists will have one hour to prepare 2 dishes from a mystery box of ingredients and will be scored by a team of respected industry judges.

The Queensland Chef of the Year competition is one of the most rewarding in the country. The winners will receive a share of $4,000 cash, plus prizes including a Unox LineMiss oven and a trip to Sydney for the Australian Chef of the Year. This includes two return airfares, two nights accommodation and automatic entry into the competition.

Each competitor will receive a certificate and chef jacket, but perhaps best of all is the experience of competing against some of the best chefs in the country.
